Cuboree is on again in 2011. In order to adjust the timing of Cuboree relative to Scout Jamborees, we’re having another one this year.

‘Cuboree no. 7 – the Adventure Continues’ will go from Monday 26th September to Friday 30th September – this is the first week of the school holidays.  Eligible registered Cubs must be born between 1st October 2000 & 26th March 2004.  Application is made on-line with June 30th the closing date for applications. Cubs will be sent a letter with a registration number to be used in this application. To save confusion, when filling out the application form, please use your parental email address – do not use your Cub’s at all.

The cost for Cubs is $360 - $180 on application & $180 final payment by July 14th.

** Belmont Cubs please note that the annual registration to the Scouting Association is also due June 30th and will also need to be also paid for your child to participate.  There are also opportunities to get involved in fundraising to subsidise Cuboree fees!

In order to prepare your Cubs for Cuboree, a Pre-Cuboree camp will be held at Eumeralla, Anglesea on August 27/28th. It is expected that all Cubs, Leaders & Adult Helpers who will be going to Cuboree will attend, so please set this date aside.

Cubs also need to complete their Camp Out badge. Some of this can be done at home; other parts will be done with Cubs. Cub Leaders will give you more information about this badge.

At Cuboree, Cubs will also be required to wear a special Cuboree cap & rain poncho, so that we can identify them at all times. There will be 3000 people in attendance & we want to keep your Cubs safe. Easy identification is an important part of this process.

The cost for the cap/poncho/camp package will be $50. Your Cub Pack may be able to subsidise this cost through fundraising.

Your Cub will need some specific clothing & equipment for the Cuboree – the most important being a good quality -5 degrees sleeping bag. We will be living outside for 5 days & 4 nights – it will be cold & could be wet.

A Cuboree information night will be held for all Packs early in term 2. This will be held for parents and Cubs in your own Scout hall. I will also be available to talk to parents afterwards, to answer whatever questions you may have. Your Cub Leader will advise you of the date for your night.
