THIS TUESDAY, 23rd APRIL

The program this Tuesday will cover Citizenship & Scoutcraft.  Scouts will be at the Hall at the usual time of 7.00–9.00pm.

  • Scout Raffle Tickets - Due back THIS Tuesday - Volunteers also needed to sell final tickets!!!
  • Geelong Jail Ghost Tour – 24thApril - Numbers finalised - further details have been emailed separately to participants.
  • Anzac Day Ceremony – 25thApril
  • Investitures – 30th April
  • 1st Belmont Family Camp - 3rd-5th May
  • Barwon eXtreme - 5th May – Some places left – Payment & forms due THIS Tuesday.

Scout Raffle Tickets

Please bring back your sold and unsold tickets and money by this Tuesday. 

We are also looking for volunteers to sell tickets in one hour time slots between 9am and 12 midday outside Coles (Belmont) this Saturday.

If you can help, please email Scott (scott@belmontscouts.org.au) with when you can help and who will come (ie, parent and your names)

 

ANZAC Day, 25th April - 6.15am for 6.30am ceremony

Wreath Laying Ceremony and Service at Boer War Memorial, Kardinia Park main entrance.  Please wear full uniform. There is easy parking across the road in front of Kardinia Park. Families welcome.

BYO Breakfast:  Please feel free to join us for a Bring Your Own Breakfast at Kardinia Park after the service.  There is a playground and grassed area for children to have a play.
There is also an undercover area which houses 2 BBQ cook tops if you wish to have a cooked breakfast.

Water and Warm Drinks will be provided.

Investitures, Tuesday 30th April

Investitures of new Scouts and Cubs who have linked will occur at the end of the normal scout program at 8.40pm - parents are invited to attend.

Barwon eXtreme, 5th May - You Yangs - Final payment & forms due this Tuesday.

There are still places left for this day of abseiling and rock climbing instructed and run by the Rock Adventure Centre Geelong.  Cost is $60 for the day – 9.30am-2.15pm.  

Please download and complete The Rock Individual Agreement and Special Activity Form as part of the registration.

More details have been emailed separately to those who have already booked a place.

 

Scout Hike, Friday 17th–19thMay 2013 - Final numbers and payment due this Tuesday.

Scout Hike is an annual, state-wide hiking event for between 200 and 500 scouts. In 2013 it's going to be held in the Tallarook State Forest.

Ra (Roger) has offered to accompany a Learner patrol made up of Belmont Scouts. Being part of a learner patrol allows an introduction to hiking and lightweight camping for those scouts who have little or no experience. 

Patrol size is going to be between 4 and 7 scouts - first in, best dressed!! Cost $40.  You'll find heaps more information on this website: http://www.vicscouts.com.au/scouthike.html - check the relevant links leading away from the main page also.

 

Level 1 Kayak and Canoe Courses, 18th– 19th April

No experience necessary for the Canoe Course.

Must have completed the Canoe Course to do the Kayak Course.

Course runs Saturday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Sunday 8:30am to 3:30pm (includes a trip of 3 hours duration)

It will be chilly so a wetsuit or thermals and wind proof jacket minimum (or both) is recommended.
