Family Activities

Throughout the year there are opportunities for the whole family to share Scouting fun and activities. These events are a great way to get to know leaders and other families and to experience Scouting for yourself. Some of our family activities include:

Founder's Day

Founder's day is a celebration of the birthday of Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Scouting movement.

Every year we come together for a family picnic or bbq. The last couple of years has been held at Eastern Beach, with families enjoying a range of activities organised by our section leaders!

Anzac Day

Generally an annual event, we invite families to join us for an Anzac Day ceremony and share a BBQ breakfast or lunch afterwards.

Bike Rides

For confident Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and their parents, a group of our Leaders and Venturers have arranged bike rides ranging from 30km rides to some overnight and multi day rides.

A few of our past rides have been:

  • Belmont to Lara return

  • Warburton Rail Trail

  • Mansfield to Tallarook

Family Camps

We tend to visit different bush settings around Victoria with a variety of accommodation options from camping to cabins. A few of our recent destinations have been to Treetops Camp and Activity Park (near Gisborne) and Brucknell Scout Camp (near Timboon).

Clean up Australia Day

Working as a team we have worked towards cleaning up our local community.

Tree Planting

Tree planting is one of many activities we commonly get involved in to help our environment. Recently we assisted the Koala Clancy Foundation plant over 1600 trees in a single day!

Trivia Night

A great fun night out, for our Leaders, Parents and older Scouting sections.
